Very fast in scanning too - takes little more than the blink of an eye scanning some of my partitions, whilst the largest (and probably the most taxing) partition I've tested uses 55GB of a total capacity of 100GB, and takes no more than two or three minutes maximum to scan on my aging Athlon XP1900. This result was particularly impressive for me, as I knew in advance that I had a great deal of duplicate texture images amongst the 55GB of data being scanned. The DSFP summary informs me that a total of 165,797 files were scanned, and 1,980 duplicate files were found on this occasion.

Utterly, utterly brilliant. I have just stumbled on this, because I can't install "Folder size" on my XP at work and have to empty out my C drive.
It analyses 100Gb of disk in about 15 seconds, after which it responds very quickly. You immediately see where big files are, and as you click on them you drill down to see where the big files are within that folder and so on. There is a cute animation each time, but it is nice and quick. Once you've found, say, a big animation file then you just right click to open it or delete it. Perfect!
Can't recommend this enough. It'll go on Windows 7 as soon as I get home. Much more efficient than Folder Size even (which doesn't work on W7), because you get an overview of the whole drive, not just one folder.

Even in the history records, the list of found duplicates is viewable almost instantaneously with a single click, and the results may be filtered so as to display (say) just images, documents, or videos etc. (in much the same way that recuva uses filters). It's also very easy to add and configure your own custom filters - something I'm sure will prove to be very useful too. Nice previews of images are icing on the very tasty cake which for me is disk space fan pro! You can right click and select the preview option, or use the Space key as a shortcut.

Disk Space Fan Pro is both a good visual tool for analyzing the disk space (for Windows only) and an excellent software to quickly find and delete unnecessary files. He is friendly and works very well on my laptop Vista 64bit The free version on http://www.diskspacefan.com/index.html is also a good tool to free up disk space, but their functions are less advances.
