How Fast to Scan a NTFS Drive With Disk Space Fan

We understand how important it is to run faster to save user’s time, so we spent a great deal of effort to improve the scanning speed of Disk Space Fan in last months and here is a comparison of scanning speed between the latest Disk Space Fan release and other disk space analyzers:

Test Step:

  1. Reboot the computer to clear disk cache
  2. Run the software and scan the test drive
  3. Record the time taken to complete a full scan

Disk Space Fan took 26s to finish the scan. And other software took from 75s to 125s.


Disk Space Fan is much faster than other disk pace analyzers. It is 2.75 times faster than the one at the second position, and it is 5.5 times than the slowest one.

Disk Space Fan 4.5.1 Is Released

We’re proud to announce Disk Space Fan 4.5.1 is released today. This release is a major improvement in the 4.X series, which includes new features and bug fixes.

The key features include:

  • Improve the scan speed. When scan NTFS drive, it is 5 times faster than other popular disk space analyzers.
  • Add “Exclude” feature to exclude a sub folder while calculating the folder size
  • Improve the stability of scan disk
  • Improve the feature to report bug
  • Many minor bug fixes

All users of Disk Space Fan 4, especially those using earlier Disk Space Fan Pro releases are advised to upgrade to this release as soon as possible.
